Originally from rural New Zealand, I grew up surrounded by adventure sports and farm life, which shaped my love for hands-on learning and exploration. After high school at Tuakau College, I spent a decade working in steel fabrication before beginning a new chapter overseas.
Education has been at the heart of everything I do. From leading outdoor experiences at Camp Sloane in Connecticut—where I spent four years as Adventure Director running mountain biking, camping, ropes courses, and white-water rafting for kids aged 5–16—to mentoring peers through church leadership in New Zealand, teaching and learning have always been central to my journey. These roles deepened my understanding of communication, cultural exchange, and personal development.
My passion for education continued through English teaching, working with K–12 learners via TutorABC (China). There, I taught students aged 3 to 12 and contributed to the development of general lesson content for young learners. In Colombia, where I now live with my beautiful wife and two amazing boys, I worked hard as a delivery teacher—getting to know Bogotá like the back of my hand while traveling daily to teach classes in homes, offices, and universities. That on-the-ground experience eventually led me to a leadership role as the Exams Division Manager at First Class English. I was responsible for managing English exams across the country—including university outreach, client communication, placement testing (such as for the U.S. Embassy), and coordinating internal systems and reports.
Every chapter of my life has reinforced my belief in the power of education. At KiwiTutor, I bring that experience into every lesson—creating engaging, practical sessions that build confidence and fluency in real-world English.
